RIP Rizet. But now who's gonna be Gran's interpreter?
It's ep. 10 and now we finally know ex. village chief's name. I can tell that the author has never thought about it before lol

No matter how hot-head the granddads are, they always act mellow around their grandchildren. Only Gran can stop the fight between the two strongest heroes. In a sense, he surely is the strongest.

I love how the characters finally calmly access the true meaning of Hero's mission from both human and demon perspectives. But, of course, the episode won't end with a happy tone unless Bashubaza's jealousy getting taken care of. Now goes into the final arc of the season.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Yeah, I'd like this to get a second season so we could eventually see the fight with the Demon King so we can learn more about them. I still remember how their appearance changed because Granverza had become stronger and finding out the Demon King has never changed makes for an interesting detail.

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

The anime is about 2 episodes behind the manga tho unless there is a LN thats ahead that idk about

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

It's based on the light novel.

Hinami Miura Kanazawa • 1 year ago

One thing I picke dup with long titles in series: They're ALWAYS or mostly likely from the LN.

Kevin Sears • 1 year ago

there are a few with short titles, but yeah this is a trend that goes back to most newer stuff (2000's and later) back in the day, short titles were commonplace for both.
My guess is that the longer titles are to fill in description because cover illustrations only go so far, and it can be difficult to compete side by side with manga, when luring a prospective shopper in a bookstore to pick up your product and not someone else's bundle of paper.

LesK • 1 year ago

it is the spines of the LNs not the covers that are the problem. not all shops in Japan have enough SHELF SPACE to display the books with the covers showing. so the various publishers and their editors slowly convinced established LN authors and new LN authors to title their works as descriptively as possible. basically, the titles have become a microscopic version of a SYNOPSIS of that piece of writing.

also, ORIGINAL sourced manga sales (even Eformat ones) have PLUMMETED in the past 20 years VS LN sales. the stories are just better in LN, more involved, more intricate, and frankly... they have a $HIT-TON more words. the manga sourced from a LN are the only ones that haven't been hit 'in the wallet'. of course, ORIGINAL manga VS adaptational ones VS LN VS all original sourceless ANIME have evolved in those 20 years as well. it is a craptastical, cyclical, unnatural disaster that was created by The Big Yen Guys who fund anime, TV/Satellite/Cable companies and their owners, and those that own the source publishing companies.

if you could read Japanese fluently, and had a VPN that would ID your PC as being physically in Japan... you could read some amazingly detailed and well researched conspiracy theories on why 'The Otaku Industry' is the way it is today.

the way it is now, a smidge more than 60% of the ENTIRE INDUSTRY'S INCOME is domestic in Japan. manga LN anime figures toys merch bla bla bla... the WHOLE SHEBANG. 40% comes from overseas, 'The West' so to speak. industry pundits as of 10 years ago predicted that will be a 50/50 split before 2025... at the rate the foreign income is increasing yearly. now, pre 2000 that percentage of overseas income had not risen above 30% EVER. but what started in the 2000's? streaming all content over the internet. pirate websites. Napster. YouTube blablabla. in the 80's anime was barely anywhere in the world, manga etc. either. in the 1990's VHS dubs and DVDs spread anime around. ADV Films. Funimation. Sentai Filmworks. CartoonNetwork. Anime Channel etc. they 'sprinkled' anime around the world like seeds. those anime took root and when the internet caught up with TV and Satellite 'airwave broadcasts' streaming piracy exploded. the Funi-Roll-Aniplex-SONY conglomerate may bitch whine and complain about pirates. but without pirates... shrug... the GROWTH OF THE ENTIRE OTAKU INDUSTRY... would have stagnated due to OVERSATURATION of franchises and materials in the Japanese market.

Bromomentonumerodos • 8 months ago

yeah people don't like to admit it but pirating and streaming services are really the reason the industry is so big today

Itinerate • 1 year ago

I'm sure they exist before but Ore no Imouto Ga Konna Ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai, commonly known as OreImo is the first major one I noticed from the 00's.

For me though the massively underrated anime Shūmatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii Desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii Desu ka? which was originally a LN is probably the longest title I know of.
If you've never never watched it I highly recommend, just be prepared to feel.

Anonymous User • 1 year ago

I doubt we'll fight the demon lord. If anything, this episode showed us communication is the best way to solve a dispute. They just need an opportunity to meet and communicate one on one.
Hopefully we get a season 2 soon, this has been a thoroughly enjoyable show

Judgment526 • 1 year ago

It’s kinda funny that Dariel never even thought to ask the name of his own father-in-law all this time. Guess he was too preoccupied with Marika, lol

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

For real, but I guess he's been calling him "Otou-san" so it's not like he needed to call Envil by his name.

Erik • 1 year ago

He went from Guild Master to Village Chief to Father

T1stG • 1 year ago

at least now he know the name at least xD

meanwhile in nonbiri nouka basically nobody calls hiraku by name anymore after some point in time. from hiraku to village chief to village chief/mayor, lol

Dbz Directioner • 1 year ago

Gotta focus on what's important.😁

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

in the manga gran doesnt talk with rizet over that mobile. Cool original idea though.

marika instead of a backbreaking hug pulls dariel into her oppai and we see a mortal combat frame where dariel's skull gets crushed.

A lot of people r gonna be hella dissatisfied with the cop out next week though

Dbz Directioner • 1 year ago

What do you mean by Cop out? What's going to happen next week. I don't mind Spoilers.

Maverick • 1 year ago

It's funny how Rizet, one of Dariel's demon friends, put up a bravado. I'm wondering if he forgot Grandbarza's voice, even if they rarely meet. Just a godfather or uncle vs an adoptive granpa both doting over Gran. I seriously lol'd at that part Grandbarza scared Rizet xxxxless over the other line, perhaps even if it was just a joke.

AlexandrosB007gr • 10 months ago

bro imagine the author thinking about this scene
-and then they will both call the ex village chief's name
-wait what was his name again???
-does he even have a name
-well whatever ill just name him right now

But alas, the fight continues.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

LOL Dariel has been married to Marika for over a year and only just now finds out the name of his father-in-law, his son's grandfather's name. That is hilarious, I can't believe he didn't know his name, unbelievable.

Marika really saved the day but cooling the two grandfathers, it wouldn't be right for one of them to take down the other especially in front of him. I do understand both sides position but I am glad Marika was able to bring another option to the table and hopefully their relationship will improve now that they both can spend time with Dariel and Gran.

I really liked that moment when Granverza tells Dariel that he's his pride and that he's the one that has gained the most due to their relationship, you can really tell how much he loves Dariel and I do hope Dariel refers to him as father once because it is very clear Dariel is his son to Granverza.

It was amusing to hear Alanzir ask Dariel to change Gran's name to Alanverza just so that his name could be included. I like how both grandfathers have come to adore Gran so much already.

I do feel a bit bad for Bashaverza though, he is at fault for the state of the army but he's probably been compared to Dariel his whole life, hearing of how important he is to the army, then even after having him removed constantly hearing that things would have been better with Dariel around, I can see why he would go crazy.

He did bring it on himself by not heeding to everyone's advice and making things worse but I wonder if Granverza has also been at fault for maybe doting more on Dariel than he did Bashaverza. Either way, Bashaverza going crazy like this is just going to make it worse for him and I also look forward to seeing Dariel putting him in his place, although I'm sure they will talk it out to solve it in the end.

Aiwaho • 1 year ago

From my perspective, I think he loves both his sons. Notice that the red hair son inherited his father position. Dariel pro haps due to have 0 combat abilities in the army homed and mastered other skills to support the army. Which is why he is known everywhere due to making the inner affairs so much easier while they all take care of the outer affairs. Because of Deriel he has things easy and accomplished and a lot. He wanted his red hair son to have the same success. Which is why he had Deriel be his red hair son's assistant. The problem lies with the red hairs Ego. Instead of cultivating himself and respecting his brother in-law he grew jealous of him and did not appreciate the things he had. Which led to him doing terrible things to the army when he was placed into power.

Grandpa Lampshade • 1 year ago

Red hair had no business being promoted in the first place since he doesn't even understand military basics. IOW he still things strength = simply fighting power. However any army no matter how powerful will collapse in short order without logistics and organization.

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Yeah I don't doubt he loves both of them, but he does seem to treat the two differently but I guess that's a result of Bashaverza being a troublemaker whilst Dariel was the good kid.

QuadL • 1 year ago

Somethings, and some people can't be resolved with words nor willing to hear.

ChosenOneX • 1 year ago

A nice and heartwarming reunion of Dariel and Grandverza. What was pretty paradoxical was that Grandverza’s reason for getting stronger was “the time he spent with Dariel”, and what made Alanzir stronger “was hatred”. It’s paradoxical in sense that Grandverza is a demon and Alanzir is a human - u get the idea...

I laughed so hard when Marika came there and literally cooled down the two men who were just about to start a fight and told them they shouldn’t fight in front of their grandson. The two’s reaction didn’t disappoint.
And that is how Gran brought peace to the world. I so expected the two to turn into doting grandpas – and I wasn’t disappointed. It was really nice to see.
Also – rip Rizet, you won’t be forgotten

In a real world nature, man is imperfect. He was suppose to be good and was made originally to be the cap stone of creation but was corrupted and even the perfect beings like the angels, messengers of God, were found to choose... unwisely, therefore corrupting themselves. At least those who made that choice. Man had not yet been made immortal so we had an out, but the angels that corrupted themselves were already immortal so they were doomed. Man awaits his correction while the angels who fell wallow in there corruption. Mankind will be refined and the corruptible within will be burned away while the original state restored. Angels can not be cleansed since they cannot change the state they are in, they are perfectly imperfect, that is to say permanently flawed.

Baby dariel and he is a human

Fortune's Feline • 1 year ago

With Dariel and Marika as parents he's gonna change the whole meaning of the word "human". XD

kodi_cody • 1 year ago

Gran is lucky to have not 1, not 2 but 3 Grandads. 😆
Dairel is the bridge between the humans and the demons, well until he takes down that idiot Bashvasa.
I hope the knockers are okay though...

He also has a lot of "dads". Dariel cannot get a break.

Agreed! Poor Guy! I was feeling that as well! Oof! :$

That said, it's a good thing those two are so strong, they had just come to terms with having to share the titles of both father and grandfather and then suddenly they got an Envil dropped on their heads too! XDXDXD

At least they were very good sports about it, I was concerned they would become Envilous of his time spent with Dariel. XDXDXD

Kid Gran is terrifying even before he is grown up. Kid's Father is OP, his grandfathers are both the Human's Strongest Hero, and Demon's Strongest General, His mother got the strength to Crush his father, his aunt is the current Hero and a strong wind mage. He's friends with Rizet, A high ranking official and a powerful magic user and who can translate the Kid talking. His father is the Mayor and manager of Mythril Mine which makes the whole world greedy. Damn dude got all the luck in the world.

Chindian • 1 year ago

c'mon you can't give the Hero the "Aunt" title and not give Rizet "Uncle", he's definitely giving Uncle vibes.
